What is switching / one touch switching?

Switching your broadband, TV, and calls provider has never been easier. One Touch Switching (OTS) is designed to make the process simple, risk‑free, and seamless — ensuring you stay connected without downtime.

Switching Broadband

When it comes to changing your broadband provider, moving is only free at the end of your contract. If you still have several months left, exit fees may apply.

At Community Fibre, there is no set‑up fee and every installation includes a router. By opting into One Touch Switching, the process is entirely hassle‑free. You don’t need to contact your current provider — we handle everything on your behalf. Best of all, your old service will only be switched off once you’re fully connected with us, guaranteeing zero downtime.

Switching TV

With One Touch Switching, you can also build your ultimate broadband and TV bundle. From just £10 per month, you’ll enjoy:

Over 230 live channels (including all Freeview channels) 40+ apps such as YouTube and TikTok More than 250,000 hours of content

You can add subscriptions to popular streaming services like Netflix, NOW, Prime Video, Hayu, discovery+, and BritBox, creating a world of unlimited entertainment. All of this is delivered through a powerful, award‑winning 4K WiFi‑enabled box.

Do I need an aerial?  You’ll need an aerial to watch Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT). However, more and more channels are available to stream online — including all BBC channels — alongside thousands of hours of on‑demand content.

Switching Calls

Keeping your number is free and simple. When placing your order, you can choose to keep your current number or take a new one.

It takes at least 12 working days from the date of your successful installation to transfer your number. If you’ve opted into One Touch Switching, we’ll notify your new provider once the port is complete. If you’re managing the switch yourself, don’t disconnect your existing line until we confirm the port is finished. While you wait, you’ll be given a temporary number.

Important to note:

Our Calls service requires a working broadband connection and electricity to power the phone adapter. If there’s a broadband failure or power cut, your Calls service won’t work. Always have another way to contact Emergency Services, such as a mobile phone. If you use a healthcare or medical alarm, check with your alarm provider to ensure it works with your internet connection.
