What is switching / one touch switching?

One Touch Switching (OTS) is a service that aims to make it easier and faster for customers to switch broadband and voice telephony providers. The service is provider-led and is intended to remove the need for customers to contact their current provider when changing services. Instead, the new provider will organise the switch, and customers will receive important information from their current provider automatically. The goal is to make the switching process seamless (as services from the new provider begin on the agreed date and services from the old provider finish on the same date that the new provider starts), even when switching between providers that use different networks and technologies.

The OTS process involves the following steps:

  1. Contact the new provider to request services and provide details.

  2. Automatically receive important switching information from the current provider, such as early termination charges.

  3. Get contract details from the new provider and consent to switch.
