FAQs
Q: Do I need to be inside your network to get Business Ready Broadband?
A: This offer is only available to small businesses within 50 metres of the Community Fibre network. Community Fibre have final decision on eligibility.
Q: Is this product suitable for home offices and remote workers?
A: Remote workers and people who work from home are normally better suited to one of our residential packages which can be found at: communityfibre.co.uk
Q: Is there a set up or installation fee?
A: No, there is no set up fee and installation is free.
Q: Is there a minimum term contract?
A: Yes, there is a 24-month minimum term.
Q: How do I switch from my current broadband provider?
A: To switch from a business broadband provider you will need to contact them directly to cancel.
If you are on a residential broadband product you can make the move to us using One Touch Switching, which means we contact your existing provider so you don’t have to. We instruct your provider to switch off their service only when your new broadband with us is live – so there’s no gaps in service. Alternatively, you can handle the switch yourself, for full control.
Q: It’s only 100 Mbps – I need a faster product. What are my options?
A: For most small businesses, 100 Mbps with equal upload and download speeds is more than enough to run multiple devices, video calls, and cloud tools reliably. However, if you would like to find out more about our other business packages, please visit: communityfibre.co.uk/business
Q: What is a Public IP address and why is it useful?
A: A public IP address is a unique IP address that no one else uses. This can change over time if a customer reboots or resets their router; however, it will always be unique.
It means your business can securely connect to company systems from anywhere and allows you to host services such as websites, email servers, VPNs, and CCTV.
Q: Do I need a landline?
A: No landline is required. Our plan includes a full Calls service with a free landline number or you can choose to port your existing landline number over — and unlimited calls to UK landlines and UK mobiles.
Q: What kind of phone will I need for the Calls service?
A: You will need an analogue handset to use our Calls service. You can also use our phone app to make and receive calls on the go.
Q: Will I get help if my internet goes down?
A: Yes. As a Business Ready Broadband customer, you will receive prioritised support and an 8-hour Service Level Agreement (SLA) response.
Q: How does the service guarantee work?
A: We offer an 8-hour fix time service level guarantee. We also offer service credits automatically if outages exceed 24 hours.
Q: How do I contact the dedicated support team?
A: Customers can call into Customer Service on 0800 082 0770, select 1 for ‘business’ and then 1 for ‘technical support’ to access the dedicated support team. Monday to Friday, 8am - 9pm, weekends and bank holidays, 9am - 7pm.
Q: My business is VAT registered. Do you provide VAT invoices for my company accounts?
A: Yes, we send out a monthly invoice and a separate VAT bill as part of your Business Ready Broadband package. Your VAT bill will include a full VAT breakdown which you can use for your VAT return and tax purposes.
