100% Full Fibre vs Other Fibre - What's the difference
100% Full Fibre is also known as Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), this means that data is transmitted using fibre cables from our hub directly into your home. When you choose Community Fibre, you are choosing 100% Full Fibre from our network to your home. Having fibre cables run directly to your home means faster and stable speeds and superior signal over long distances.
Other Fibre companies may use a hybrid process called Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC), where they provide fibre cables to their hub but use copper cables from the hub to your home. This means that the speed of your connection can vary, depending on how far your home is from the cabinet. FTTC is also less reliable than FTTP because of the use of copper cables, which can degrade over time. As FTTC connections are shared, your speeds can also fluctuate throughout the day.
